Here are some shots of my best buddies: Dundee, a miniature Australian Shepherd, Sadie, a Welsh Corgi and Murphy, a blue-ticked and white cat. Read more below each picture. Actually, now that I live on Tina's farm, we have quite a menagerie: 4 horses, 3 dogs and 12 cats! Eventually, I'll get pictures of them all here.

Dundee
Dundee's full name is Bosworth's Dundee Akubra Blue. Akubra is a brand of Australian hat. The Blue is derived from his blue merle coloring. He's listed with the National Stock Dog Registry. Extremely intelligent and loveable. Probably the most intelligent dog I've ever known. Almost scary sometimes. He graduated from puppy kindergarten in the top 10% of his class! We may take him to agility training later when we get his obedience skills improved. Who knows? We may compete with the big dogs! The house is littered with his toys. There's a scruffy stuffed bear or tennis ball at every turn.

Full grown now, he weighs in at about 30 lbs. Beautiful markings and eyes that will melt you. These pictures don't do him justice. I'll try to get better ones.

Sadie is a full-blooded, AKC registered Welsh Corgi. She came from the same breeder as Dundee. Like Dundee, she's a working stock dog and loves to help Dundee try to herd our horses. Even with her stubby little legs, she can give Dundee and the horses a run for their money.

This isn't a very good picture. Sadie's coloring is much more red. Now mature, she has the distinctive "fairy harness" markings behind the white collar.

Sadie is much more docile than Dundee but they are best buddies. They're quite a pair when playing together - which is just about all the time. Both just love life on the farm.

Murphy
Murphy was a skinny, stray kitten found rummaging in a dumpster in Indianapolis. He was rescued and raised in a foster home. I acquired him in Indy at a CFA cat show in 2000 when he was a few months old. Quite a character. Gets into everything. Has to see and participate in everything you're doing. He's now quite large and has adapted very well to life on the farm, where he is the Alpha cat.

Murphy competed in a cat show some time back and walked away with 7th, 8th and 10th place ribbons in the Household Pet division (these pictures were taken then). He was also a finalist in the Friskies Friskiest Pet competition. The Friskies folks liked his spunk. Murphy wasn't too thrilled with the competition scene and wasn't real pleasant to the judges in some of the later rings. So, for the time being, Murph's show career is on hold.
